Maudie's Hill Country - Austin

Maudie?s hill country has an excellent patio with plenty of seating and a sunset from the Mariposa room balcony is a real treat for special events. The food is consistent and good standard Tex-Mex fare but I think their stand out menu items are the breakfast tacos, specifically Pete?s Tantalizing Tacos. My other favorite here is the Poblano Creama Enchildas. I can?t leave out the classic frozen margaritas either with plenty of swirl-in flavor options such as Prickly Pear. They have a lot of choices all across their menu and it?s hard to go wrong with any of them. Don?t sleep on the Diablo Sol Food queso!

I had a fantastic lunch experience, deserving of 4 stars. The beef lover's enchiladas were outstanding, bursting with flavor. They even included grilled jalapeños when I requested some heat, which was a nice touch. The Chipotle sauce added a lot of flavor as well. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the salsa was somewhat bland and tasted overly sweet, like it was just tomatoes. Additionally, the queso reminded me of something from a convenience store.

I just don’t get the hype. The salsa was decent, but everything went downhill from there. The chicken fajita tacos were cold, soggy, and really disappointing. They didn’t even contain fajita chicken; it was just seasoned cooked chicken with a few sautéed onions and peppers. The black beans were like guacamole. While the service was good, the food was not. I might give it another chance, but I’m expecting more disappointment, just like last time. I probably won’t be returning, and I’m still as hungry as when I arrived...

Good food. The toilet area for gentlemen in the relaxation room seemed to have needed a light barrier, and I spoke to the staff manager and he said he had seen it. The waiter had to be asked for some articles, and he brought some articles, but if he was asked? Salt Pepper, it was never brought out. Except for some small problems. The rest of the time was the waiter attentive.

Overall it?s a really good experience we ordered a few drinks and I didn?t have a problem with them but some of the party did and the staff was very quick to correct the issue. And no problem going above and beyond trying to correct the issue (offering free shots). The food was good, drinks were good in my opinion, the staff had fast service. Great option, nothing bad to say here.
