Manuel's Downtown - Austin

Very enjoyable dinner Our preferred table for our early dinner was in a section that was closed until 5.30 so we had drinks at the bar first although they were able to open the section very quickly for us. We enjoyed happy hour cocktails and nibbles at the bar with excellent service by Christy, then we went through for a leisurely dinner. Jackie our server was excellent very friendly, patient and thorough. A couple of items served weren’t piping hot and she happily returned them quickly for us. Delicious flavors all round.

We had an excellent lunch and delicious margaritas here at the recommendation of a local friend. So good I have already recommended it to other friends. Yum!

Food was ok. Drinks were also just ok. The restaurant has a bad smell, like sewage? or spilled drinks on carpet that has never been cleaned. Overall impression was just ok. There are far better places. Even our drinks in our hotel were better than the drinks at Manuel’s.

It was a Sunday evening, and due to COVID-19, there were barely any other patrons, which meant we had this wonderful restaurant all to ourselves. We shared a variety of appetizers, and our drinks were promptly refilled. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was delightful, and the food was tasty!

They really enjoy the food, and the variety on the menu is fantastic. The happy hour specials are excellent too, making it a great choice for both intimate dinners and larger group gatherings.
