El Mercado - Austin

I really want to like this place. I'll give them a try again and again. they sit on such a great location and a great place, but eating is so bad. can't they just try something harder? the manager seems to be a good guy. but the place has now gone down so and it seems as if no one has a dang over the place or the food they serve. I really don't want this Austin-Institution to disappear, but if I will pay such high prices for food, it should be impossible at least. ?

This place could look old, but the service and the friendliness of the staff was from this world. mt eltern, my dog guide and I went to eat. eating was good and amazing. the prices were reasonable. the server offered to bring my guide dog some water that brought it into a dog shell. so awesome and nice of them. will be fefinatly back and will recommend to everyone!

I went here for the first time on a random weekday and it was surprisingly busy and packed! the service here great, the server was friendly and chat partner. he has done a good job, to take orders and to do it quickly. the whole food came out right. I got the brisket enchiladas and they were good. the only thing I had to write about was that the enchiladas were a bit cold. I wish they were a little hotter. the Mexican rice was super delicious.

The Mercado plate is delicious and filling! The service was on point!!

Not terrible, but not great either. Salsa had potential, but was just too watery. Chips weren't super fresh and probably not made in restaraunt but they weren't bad either. Staff was incredibly friendly though. The rice was actually very good, but the burrito was kinda meh, not disgusting, but not very tasty. This restaurant is right there in the middle, I'm ok with coming back but would choose somewhere else first. One big plus was that they actually do refill your salsa, and they refill it quickly.
