The Pie Boss - Aurora

WOW! I visited this place yesterday after hearing from a fellow Brit how fantastic it was. I'm from England and have a love for all types of pasties and sausage rolls, yet I haven't found a good spot in the U.S. until now. The sausage roll was amazing—just like back home—and I tried their special of the day, which was a ground beef pasty. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! I couldn’t resist taking some home, so I bought a few to freeze. It’s a wonderful place with a great atmosphere. The owner and his family are incredibly friendly and welcoming. While I was there, two separate ladies walked in and each left with nearly $100 worth of pasties! They must be good!

On Saturday night, we picked up a selection of pies to bake for a family gathering on Sunday. We tried several varieties: Sausage Rolls, Beef Pasties, Pepper Steak, Cheeseburger, Ham and Cheese, and one of the day's specials—Pepperoni Pizza! Every single one of them was absolutely fantastic. I wasn't sure what to expect from the cheeseburger, ham and cheese, or the pizza, but I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty they all were. The atmosphere in the place was warm and welcoming, and the aroma when you walk in is just amazing. I was really disappointed that we couldn’t eat right then and there! We're accustomed to steak and ale-type meat pies (I'm Scottish, and my husband is Irish), and the pepper steak was the closest in style, but I highly recommend trying them all!

This is definitely the best South African pie shop within a 100-mile area. Seriously, the food here is fantastic!

Can't decide if I liked the pepper steak or chicken pot pie more! My daughter loved your sausage roll! It brought back memories to her, but she says yours is even better than in Joburg. You have new regulars here. What a great surprise!!!

Excellent meat and dessert pies!!! The crust is made from scratch and is to die for!
