Wimpy's Diner - Aurora

Pretty acceptable food, huge servings and a bit of fun in the atmosphere; a real diner feel, with friendly service.

Went for dinner with family. Noticed a chair was propping a side door open...realized when we entered there was no air conditioning. No big deal, we were the only ones in the restaurant (should had left by then). Thought perhaps it was the long weekend a lot of people are away. Staff were friendly. We orders chicken souvlaki, chicken dinner & roast beef. We could hear a beeping noise while our order was being made. It was the microwave! Only the salad was descent. We think they microwaved the chicken...it was horrid! Greasy not even grilled as per the menu. We actually had to ask the waiter to take the chicken back and cook it longer & the vegetables that came with the roast beef was microwaved! This place is a disaster. The bathrooms are a horror story all together! Stay away, spend your money else where! Or go the Wimpy's diner near Bayview Ave. & Wellington in Aurora.

Breakfast is too expensive for a fast food place. Service is slow and atmosphere is run down. aurora

Their breakfast was indeed delicious and filling. A good combination of diner with wholesome foods...a twist of the 50's decor.

My wife & I went to the Wimpy's Diner on Yonge Street, In Aurora, the day of their "Street Festival, on Sunday morning in early June, 2016.The initial service by the waitress was fine, but the actual pancakes & syrup that my wife & I ordered, is a totally different story.Both my wife & I ordered the 3 piece buttermilk pancakes(my wife added a side-order of sausages).The pancakes arrived with the pancake syrup in a plastic squeeze bottle.I squeezed the syrup onto the pancakes as I always do, noticed how very thick(like motor oil) it was & then started to eat them.Immediately I noticed the very thick syrup had virtually no "syrup taste" and a very metallic aftertaste. I took another bite & had the same strong negative reaction to the pancake syrup.I had eaten pancakes at hundreds of restaurants & used hundreds of pancakes syrups, but by far your was the worst tasting I have ever encountered & I found it totally inedible!!I have NEVER complained about pancake syrup in any restaurant in my entire life(66 years) until then!It is way too thick, has virtually no taste & it had a very bitter metallic aftertaste.The waitress explained to me the pancake syrup was sourced from their head office.I do realize they can't afford "real maple syrup", but their version of pancake syrup is an abomination to the name. I found it totally inedible & explained that to the waitress, who was able to convince the owner of the restaurant, to refund me the cost of my pancakes.She asked the owner to mention this to his head office, but he seemed most reticent to do so.They should do something about the awful sludge you like to call pancake syrup. It is totally offensive & should not be served!THIS IS WHAT MY WIFE NOTICED WHEN SHE WENT TO THE WASHROOM IN WIMPY'S DURING OUR BREAKFAST:-Tampon dispenser coin slot was taped up with hand written note, saying “do not put in money as it is empty”- Soap dispenser was empty and broken, with a small hand pump soap beside it that was totally empty-One tap on the sink was wrapped in masking tape, and totally not usable-the handle on the toilet had to be held down in order for it to flushDo not, I repeat, do not eat in this restaurant until a new franchisee takes it over!
