Otto's On The River - Augusta

I'd never go back to this restaurant. The food was terrible, barely to eat. I ordered the stuffed squid, it was served on a bed of potatoes that had a strange color, I took a bite of potatoes, and that was it, the taste was hard to describe, very salty and terrible. I've stuffed out all the sauce on the squid and ate some of the squid. I would have expected a better meal especially at the price. It wasn't cheap.

Waiting staff was friendly but not exceptionally attentive (long wait for service, no water brought to table). The food was room temperature and squid and potatoes were dry. Pasta dishes were not very tasteful. Oysters and wine were excellent.

We were very excited to have a reservation at Ottos for our anniversary. When we arrived there, I can only describe the staff as very entertaining and not engaged. They didn't seem happy. It may seem funny, but we were looking for a festive place for a fine meal and Ottos did not deliver on this front. The oysters we had were good and the ducks sufficient, my wife commented that their potatoes were not hot. This is the second time that we were at Otto's jubilee, and I think that next year we will look elsewhere for our dinner.

Tent for Thanksgiving Special Diner. Generally, the food was very good, but they were from the filling that was very disappointing for a Thanksgiving menu. The service was under par, although the server was pleasant. The appetizer plate and the food are cleaned simultaneously. The dessert is filled from the main meal without cleaning.

Super nice place and people. Not every dish is perfect every time, but they try really hard with both the service and creative effort with the food. Certainly well worth a visit if you are in Augusta, Waterville or the region.
