Big Daddy's And Grill - Augusta

I've been here maybe four times and had had ZERO problems! We love this place and always make it a point to stop and eat here when passing through Augusta. Definitely a local hole in the wall. The staff has always been pleasant and you can tell they have a fair amount of regulars. I recommend the pulled pork sandwich and a rack of ribs the meat literally falls off the bone. Pretty sure they make all their BBQ sauces too. My husband also likes their hot wings and always gets loaded tater tots. Kids menu is fairly extensive. Dessert options change, but I cant say I've anything bad. Plus prices seem fair for the portions you get! Military discount for our troops. As far as cleanliness goes, I have no complaints. Bathrooms always seem to be well stocked and taken care of. Never had a dirty table. All in all, definitely worth checking out if you have time for a good, sit down meal.

Went here for lunch since it's fairly close to work. We didn't have an issue getting seated. We were served quickly and our food came quickly. I ordered a burger and tots. The portions are large. I felt like the burger was a little bland. I wasn't thrilled that the pickles were sweet pickles and they only give you one pickle? Weird. Anyways, I'd probably go back because overall the service was good and the food was decent for a quick lunch.

Meh....it was ok. The service was great, very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean and had an expansive menu. However, i honestly just didn't love the bbq. For me, it comes down to tender meat and the sauce. yes..the sauce!!! When my pulled pork sandwich arrived it had a layer of sauce already on it. I prefer locations that serve the meat plain and give several sauce options....spicy, sweet, smokey, etc. Nope, not here that i noticed . You get the sauce they give you, and unfortunately i didn't like the sauce at all. Was it a mustard base??? Not sure??? The mac and cheese was good and my friend really liked her burger and fries. I took a few fries, and they were good crinkle cut. I unfortunately only ate half of my sandwich as i couldn't get passed the sauce. : I have two local friends that love this place! For me, i will try the burger next time. The ribs looked good too...maybe i can sneak in my own sauce. :

5 for the service 3 for the food Most restaurants in the area were closing at 9pm so we selected Big Daddy's since they are open until 10. We were seated promptly and our waitress Brooke was there on the spot. Their menu is broad appetizers, wings, nachos, quesadillas, steaks, seafood, burgers and BBQ. My son ordered a 1/2 lb burger with sloppy tots (covered in ranch, cheese fake bacon bits). He liked the burger but doubted it was anywhere close to 1/2 lb. I selected the appetizer of bang shrimp with a side of tater tots. It took a really long time for our food (were were the only people seated in our section at 9:15pm). My tater tots arrived about 20 minutes after our food. It was weird because my son had tots on his plate. The tots were seriously overcooked fried super hard, almost inedible and certainly not tasty. The shrimp were really good so it made up for the terrible tots. Our waitress was really friendly and efficient. Just wish the kitchen had stepped it up a bit.

Our waitress Stephanie B. was amazing. Wife had the pork chop dinner, Two big breaded pork chops, corn on the cob and slaw, Chops were very tender and flavorful. Slaw was just slaw. I had the loaded salad with ranch and it was indeed loaded. Really enjoyed that. We had bang shrimp and hot potato chips for starters. Both very tasty. Will definitely be returning when we are in the area. BTW they do offer a military discount.
