Ribs Burgers The Marc

Our favourite new casual dining restaurant is Ribs Burgers in The Marc, Sandton. We love the casual vibe of the setting, the comfy booths and tables and the indoor/outdoor lay out. It's obviously influenced by the American diner concept but it's not a slavish carbon copy.<br/ <br/ Service is quick and unobtrusive and there’s plenty of options to choose from on the menu. Obviously, the name would indicate that they specialise in ribs and burgers. We haven't tried the ribs yet but if you’re a fan of burgers you’ll be spoiled for choice and you should be happy with whatever you get. Just be careful to let them know how you want yours done as they don't always ask. <br/ <br/ The handcut fries are chunky, crispy and golden. Generous portions. The milkshakes good and thick and not over sweet the coffee is the one I always go for and it's got good strong flavour. <br/ <br/ Add reasonable prices to the above and it's a no brainer if you want a good meal that won't break the bank.<br/

A good couple of weeks ago I joined a friend for an early dinner at Ribs Burgers at The Marc in Sandton. This wasn't my time at Ribs and Burgers (we've been to the branch at Menlyn Maine a while ago, but it was my first visit to this relatively new shopping centre. <br/ <br/ The name is RIBS and Burgers, but I had such a serious burger craving, I didn't even look at the ribs on the menu. Side note: I must go back for that! We shared an order of 'loaded fries' super fresh and delicious. We finished it in a matter of minutes! <br/ <br/ So, I know I want a burger, but which one? In the end I settled on the Mighty Big Cheese (200g beef patty, American cheese, pickles, caramelized onions, mustard, BBQ and pink sauce . That was EXACTLY what I was craving! I am not a fan of HUGE burgers – and this burger was the perfect size. Super tasty, the beef patty was very well cooked, so juicy. We shared a side of onion rings, super yum! <br/ <br/ And then I noticed the milkshake menu.... And how can I possibly ignore it (no matter how much I already had to eat.... . I simply can't walk past a Salted Caramel milkshake. So that was it, dessert sorted! <br/ <br/ And, burger craving sorted! <br/ <br/ • Ambience:  Casual and laid back, orders placed at counter and brought to table. <br/ <br/ • Service: Friendly and efficient <br/ <br/ • Menu Variety: Vegetarian and banting options <br/ <br/ • Food: Mainly ribs, burgers, salads, steaks, wraps <br/ <br/ Drinks: Craft beer on tap, a small wine list, sodas and milkshakes!

Up there with the best burger I’ve had anywhere. Perfectly cooked to order. Great flavour, fresh ingredients. Awesome onion rings good sweet potato fries. only reason not to give a 5 is no table service limited beer wine choice. Order at the counter they bring the meal. That’s after the same person lays the table explains their “system” doesn’t make sense to me.

If you have not yet heard of Ribs and Burgers, I’m here to tell you that you’ve been missing out. Ribs and Burgers is an international restaurant chain with recently opened South African branches in Sandton and Pretoria. A few weeks ago I went to visit Ribs and Burgers in Sandton at The Marc. I’ve visited them a number of times previously, so clearly I’m a fan. This time, I decided to bring my mom along for lunch and introduce her to Ribs and Burgers. We started out with a glass of Peacock merlot – perfect for a chilly autumn day. I then opted for the bacon and cheese burger. This is a 150g beef patty served with bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles with a BBQ and pink sauce. Absolutely delicious. The patty was juicy and flavoursome; cooked to perfection. At Ribs and Burgers you can select how you’d like your patty done and you can also pick and choose and add on any extra toppings as you like. My mom opted for the 400g grass fed rump steak (yes my mother too has a big appetite. I guess I got it from my mama ; . The rump was flame grilled and basted in Ribs and Burgers’ signature BBQ basting. She loved this steak. We also shared a side of the thick cut crunchy potato chips. Our waiter recommended the chilli mayonnaise dipping sauce to go with the chips which was a great recommendation. The portion sizes at Ribs and Burgers are very generous making any meal great value for money.

Close to work and great for a relaxing Friday lunch. <br/ <br/ I ordered the falafel burger with crispy chips and my lunch friend had the chicken burger. Our food was delicious, the falafel burger was tasty and not stodgy. They have a kickass chilli on the side for those who like it hot. <br/ <br/ Service was a little slow initially and then remedied itself to proactive and friendly. BYO at no corkage which is a plus how I wish we had taken our own wine. Their house wine knocked me out . <br/ <br/ I like Ribs Burgers and will be back...with my own vino.
