Fish - Auckland New Zealand

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the Serendipity High Tea on a Sunday. The waiter was kind enough to walk us through the menu, explaining that due to Level 2 restrictions, everything would be served at the table. Unfortunately, we noticed upon arrival that the food on the buffet counter had already been set out, causing the salads to wilt. For $55 per person, we were treated to up to 2 pots of Zealong tea each and unlimited high tea items. While we would have preferred the freedom to choose our own items, the experience was still enjoyable. We appreciated the option to reorder items we liked and the scones were served fresh from the oven. It would have been nice if the salads had received the same attention to detail. The view was stunning and overall, it was a lovely Sunday outing. For an additional $20 per person, bottomless prosecco is available.

In all honesty, this fancy restaurant is not as upscale as one might expect. However, the food was enjoyable, albeit a bit pricey. I particularly enjoyed the tuna appetizer. The service, on the other hand, was exceptional and truly top-notch.

View was fantastic. The kumara sourdough was great to start with. Queen crab was already cut so easy to eat. Everything was perfect. Amazing staff.

Absolutely amazing. Lamb melts and it is beautifully cooked, the tooth fish even though it is not amazingly plated, all the flavours in the dish blend together and they make a party in your mouth. Less good, the lobster as main is a 100% kiwi dish. Too much sauce for a nice piece of lobster. The starters needed a little bit more flavouring, except from the crab where the broth was cooked to perfection. The deserts.. To die for. We had the crack tart and the chocolate mousse. Divine. And the cherry on top? The service! Jacob took his time to help us with the wine choices, to explain the dishes and was really knowledgeable. A night to repeat! The true review should be a 4.5, but that option doesn't exist. It just doesn't take the 5 star because of details but it is definitely close!
