Contribuiți la feedbackI visited this restaurant for lunch and, since I'm not a regular, decided to sample what the sign claimed to be the best pho in Takapuna. I've always believed that a good Vietnamese restaurant can be judged by its flagship dish, pho. The noodles were quite thin, about 1mm in width, which isn't my preference—I'm more of a 3mm kind of person. Additionally, the serving was on the smaller side, resembling about half a bowl. I'm probably just accustomed to the more generous portions from their competitors in Otahuhu, like Sam Woo. However, the appetizer I ordered—sweet and sour deep-fried tofu—was a generous serving for only six bucks, as you can see in the picture. I'm eager to return and try more dishes in the area.
The food was excellently prepared. While my rare beef noodle soup could have used more beef, the flavor was quite delicious. The waitress was cheerful and smiled throughout our visit, providing great customer service.
Definitely some of the best dumplings you'll find! If you haven't had the chance to try these fresh, handmade dumplings made daily, you're really missing a treat. The service is friendly, and the prices are great too.
Ambiance: Modern Decor with a clean streak of luxury and homeliness all in one. Warm, inviting, spacious. Comfortable.<br/ <br/ Service: Slightly below average with speed but above average with friendliness. Meals were served in a timely fashion, drinks were chilled and cutlery provided.<br/ <br/ Food: I tried the Hot and Sour soup as well as the Beef Pho. The soup was served hot and quickly. The flavours are rich and the serving is perfect as an appetizer as it gets the appetite ready for the main meal. Great development of broth flavour, not overwhelming to the palette. Lovely. Only negative is utilising canned pineapple, fresh pineapple may round this out perfectly.<br/ <br/ The Pho was served hot with accompanying lemon wedge and alfalfa sprouts. The broth was nice but could've used a lot more sourness from lime. The beef was tender but slightly confusing as I had pieces of brisket and other round pieces of what I believe was some form of processed beef, as it had a slightly spongy texture to it.
Love this place! They have a great lunchtime menu for $12 which is amazing value for the amount of food you get! The Singapore noodles in particular are fantastic, a nice spice without being too spicy. Been a few times to eat in and takeaway, and never disappointed with the food. Not open on a Tuesday though for a heads up.
