Late afternoon shopping in Ponsonby, start getting hungry and want a snack before finishing up. Enter Mexico... <br/ <br/ Having visited their Takapuna store many times there is a comfort in knowing what you are about to order and eat.<br/ <br/ We are welcomed into the restaurant and seated by our friendly waitress. We place our order didn’t really need to look at the menu) afternoon snack of Mexico Fried Chicken, one of their speciality’s. Food arrives shortly there after and it’s exactly what the doctor ordered. Great as always!!!<br/ <br/ If you haven’t eaten here before there are plenty of other goodies to try on the menu: worth a mention is their soft shell tacos, they always go down a treat!<br/ <br/ Food: 75%<br/ Ambience: 78%<br/ Service: 80%<br/ Coffee: N/A

I initially came in for the limited edition spicy taco, but ended up ordering a variety of other dishes as well. We ordered the spicy taco, lamb taco, cauliflower, mushroom, and fried chicken, and everything was absolutely delicious! If you enjoy spicy food, I highly recommend trying the spicy taco - it has the perfect level of heat and is very refreshing. The fried chicken, cauliflower, and mushroom dishes came with a creamy mayo and were incredibly crunchy. I will definitely be returning to try more dishes in the future.

Mexico is a place that consistently leaves you a bit disappointed despite high expectations. The food is always delicious, but the service could use improvement. It's clear that the staff are incentivized to turn over tables quickly, as you feel rushed to finish every time. However, I keep returning for the amazing margaritas and fried chicken.

We had a great time at Mexiconz in Ponsonby over the weekend. The atmosphere was fantastic with its charming caged lightings, ethnic murals, and walls decorated with liquor bottles. One of the standout dishes from our dinner was the Lamb Quesadilla.

I came here with my fam and loved it! Although it’s super loud and a pretty buzzy atmosphere, it’s really enjoyable if you don’t mind yelling across the table to chat <br/ <br/ I had the jackfruit taco, tempura eggplant special taco, the chickpea patatas and then the vegan chocolate dessert. I tell ya, what a feast. The portion sizes looked small but were actually great! Really awesome flavours and surprisingly filling! I would 100% come back, maybe with a group of friends so we can try some more cocktails <br/ <br/ Service was really friendly, and super fast. Can’t fault it.
