Contribuiți la feedbackI would not order the fajita I would not order. It was not very good. My husband order the chicken fried chicken with potatoes which was amazing. We have been to the rain forest cafe in Galveston Texas and grapevine Texas and we love them all.
The experience was overall great. Both times I dined in the customer service was friendly welcoming. Kids loved the set up atmosphere 10/10 Food was 5/10. Very Expensive regular tasting. Beyond burger was decent. Ordered the Mozzarella flat bedw/arugula? best of the two.
Our server, who also served as the bartender, took our drink and food orders and informed us that the kitchen was short-staffed, so it would take about 15 minutes for our cheese sticks and our daughter's meal. We kept her entertained by exploring the displays. Our drinks arrived about 8 minutes after we ordered, but we waited 25 minutes for the appetizers and our daughter’s pizza. The cheese sticks were just standard frozen items, not worth the $12 price tag, but I guess that’s typical. My daughter's pizza was quite disappointing—almost reminiscent of hospital cafeteria food. She didn’t like the cheese and only ate the sauce, which isn’t surprising for a 2-year-old. Her applesauce came in one of those little sealed Motts plastic containers with a couple of orange wedges tossed in, possibly from the bar. My wife and I opted for the fish and chips, thinking they would be quick since they were deep-fried. After about 20 to 25 minutes after the appetizers arrived, our main dishes finally came. The fries were lukewarm, undercooked, and soggy, while the fish was warm, overly greasy, and bland. Given the wait time, it was quite disappointing. I didn’t want to make a scene with the server or shortchange him on the tip, mainly because I didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes for fresh fries—I just wanted to leave. We arrived on time for our 5:45 PM reservation and ended up paying the bill at 7:15 PM. If the food had been good, it might not have been a big deal, but we ended up paying $75 for subpar bar food.
Yesterday, we visited the Rainforest Cafe, and I must say, I had my reservations at first, but it turned out to be an amazing experience! Every half hour, there was a thunderstorm effect, and the fish aquariums added to the ambience, along with jungle animals placed throughout the restaurant. The food was surprisingly delicious (I even tried some of the seasonal vegetables!), and our server, Bennet, was fantastic! I highly recommend this place!
However, this time, the animals were not as lively as they usually are. When we asked our waitress about it, she explained that they sometimes overheat because of their age. To make matters worse, the lights in the entire restaurant went out for an extended period. We made reservations for 7 (the only time available), but by the time we were enjoying dessert, the lights turned off again. On a positive note, our waitress was fantastic and had a great sense of humor. My daughter still enjoyed the fish tanks, but overall, the experience was disappointing, especially considering the cost of the food. Unfortunately, we won’t be celebrating any more birthdays there in the future. As a side note, I was excited to see that they were selling Jellycat toys in the store, as we’ve been looking for a place nearby that sells them!
