Contribuiți la feedbackOpen Table allowed us to make a reservation and confirmed the reservation but the restaurant is still closed for COVID shutdowns. We didn't find out until we arrived for Dinner. Very frustrating. This seemed to the the same for most restaurants in Downtown Atlanta during AmericasMart. Not the restaurants fault necessarily but there should be a way for Open Table to verify that restaurants are in operation before confirming your reservation.
Food was fantastic. Fried chicken cooked very well, with excellent seasoning and pretty good salad bar. The only drawback was the House was out of hot sauce. Weird, but stated to be due to a large event.
Janine was our waitstaff. Wrong at three counts! I told her that we will have three separate checks. Second, I want my gumbo with no rice. Third, I wanted dark meat for my fried chicken. She got it all wrong. When I pointed it out, she said, “it was a long day” with no apologies!!!!Otherwise, every thing else was just fine. Nothing special.
The ambiance was really nice...we had a party on 17/18 1 waitress and 1 waiter working both sides of the table. We ask for straws. The waiter literally stood at the end of the table and threw the straws at us to the other end of the table Next we were served our meals..but the shareable black eyed peas came after we were finish with our meal and the turnips never did come Portion size was horrible...
Despite the reservation it still took almost 20 minutes to be seated. Our reservation was for 6:45. They were out of ribs and they only offered us one bread item. They didn't leave the basket on the table or return to offer more. We noticed that they left baskets on surrounding tables so perhaps we didn't look like bread eaters. Idk. This was my third visit and I had a first timer with me. It's a part of the Atlanta experience to eat here so I would probably return again with someone who's never been but otherwise I'll choose another dinner location next time I'm downtown.
