I 'm a rideshare driver who had no prior knowledge of this place before I googled breakfast near me . I had to say that before y 'all read my glowing review?. But I promise it was so good I couldn 't even finish taking the picture before I started nibbling lol. A fellow patron was watching me tear up my veggie omelette and commented look like you coulda made that yourself. Know what? I COULD-and that 's the point! It tasted just like homemade. And between the 90s r&b music playing, the lively convo between fellow patrons and the teenagers gazing into their phones oblivious to anything else going on around them, it was EXACTLY like home! Go here for a lil taste of home-you won 't be sorry!

My neighbors and I started on a journey to find a restaurant I saw featured on the Food Network. We found it but was disappointed. My neighbor sees the silver lining in everything, so we had a change of plans and went to one of his favorite's spots. The 285 West Soul Food. It's in a less than desirable area on MLK right off of I 285 but the place was clean, and the staff were very friendly. Like they knew you. It was a Sunday about 3pm. The line was long but moved reasonable fast. The food looked very tasty and there were good choices available. The baked chicken (1 large breast if you order white meat they didn't have any wings), yams, mac'n cheese, and dressing was delicious! The pork chops dinner (came with 2) was a bit dry but had a good taste, the ribs were good too, but I didn't care for the sauce. The cornbread was also great. The portions were good also. The one thing I didn't care for was the $4 charge for using a debit card. So, take cash if you decide to venture there. It's clear there're making money and should cover the $4 as the cost of doing business.

The best breakfast spot on the Westside my husband and I go atleast one I week. I always order the Adamnsville Special everything is always hot and fresh. The ladies mom and daughter are welcoming.
