Mambo Italian Street Food - Atlanta

Upon arrival, we were seated quickly, but things started off on the wrong foot when one of the waitresses accidentally dropped a small serving plate on my mom's foot. She apologized, and I understood it was a simple mistake. However, the quality of the food ruined the overall experience. I had recommended the gnocchi to my mom, as the sauce is usually great, and she decided to pair it with grilled chicken. Unfortunately, the chicken was extremely dry, overcooked, and completely lacking in seasoning. I tried it myself to confirm, and it was indeed not good. I ordered the Rigatoni Salsicia, having never tried it before, and was disappointed to find it served with very little sauce that was too watery. There was no seasoning or flavor, and the vegetables were raw and crunchy, making it more like a pasta salad than a hot dish. I felt let down and asked my waitress for some cheese to improve my meal; I jokingly remarked that if I wanted something that looked and tasted like that, I could have asked my 16-year-old to cook! To make matters worse, there were whole bay leaves in my dish that I had to pick out, and the persistent flies were something the waitress kept apologizing for. Our water decanter and glasses arrived before our food, which is standard, but they were dirty, and our water had a bitter taste, likely due to residual wine in the glasses. The waitress acknowledged this and mentioned she’s been urging the dishwashers to improve, as this isn’t the first issue they've had. We also had to ask for clean plates twice, as each time she brought out new ones, they were covered in food and fingerprints. Overall, I left feeling quite dissatisfied with what I paid.

The takeout order was outstanding—definitely a five-star experience! The lasagna was delicious, but the real star was the fig citrus salad. If you love oranges, figs, avocado, and goat cheese, this dish is a must-try! It was perfectly balanced and hit all the right notes. For vegetarians, I highly recommend the fig citrus salad; it’s absolutely incredible! It might even make a meat-lover consider going vegan!

I celebrated my birthday here and had an incredible experience thanks to my waitress. Even though I was dining solo, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, which made me genuinely happy—it truly felt like the best birthday ever. The food is hearty, and the drinks will definitely elevate your mood. Overall, I give the food a 5/5!

We enjoyed another delicious meal with great service at Mambo Italian Street Food. The entertainment by Charley truly makes it a unique experience for us. It's what draws us to this establishment as opposed to anywhere else.

HORRIBLE SERVICE. I called in a carry out order and when I went to pick up my food at the bar I was ignored and service was not provided to me. I waited 20 mins and then had to wave at the bartender for service even though she was right in front of me deliberately avoiding me. They made it clear that I wasn’t welcomed since I walked in the door, if you are black I would NOT recommend dining in. Although the food isn’t bad the service left a terrible taste in my month. I’m Disgusted! I’m 25 years old male, never left a review on a restaurant until now I’ve never felt racially profiled before until now. I feel obligated to broadcast how terrible I was treated. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE IF YOUR ARE BLACK CLEARLY WE AREN’T WELCOMED.
