My cocktail was also delicious. The female bartender in glasses with brown hair wasn’t at all attentive or particularly friendly. But hey, everyone has a tough night, right?I got the hedo bap. I felt that it was overly seasoned and salty. I’m all for some kick and rich flavors, but when it’s to the point that I can’t enjoy the taste of the fish, etc., something is just off in the kitchen. My friend got the fried chicken, which I also felt was a bit over seasoned.AGAIN. I do love some seasoning for sure. Flavor. But don’t salt and season to the point where I can’t enjoy the taste of the fish/chicken/veggies.
We came here super late on Sunday and by the time we ordered, they were out of a lot of things (bummer, I know). In any event, everything we did try was so good. I especially liked the dumplings, bibimbap hedo bap. I also liked the cocktail I got, the Pink Flag. Service was also good, bartenders were super fun and took good care of us. Def a great lowkey spot for dinner drinks.
Korean food at Gaja ≠ was ok, nothing special. Kimchi fried rice was very bland and not much kimchi in it. The banchan kimchi dish was not very tasteful, the worst kimchi I had in awhile. Braised pig belly was a bit better, but had a lot of fat slices. A little sneaks on the Hwayo soju.
The food was really good. We have Korean roasted chicken, Bulgogi Beef and Pork Katsu. Our water glasses were dirty, but otherwise a good meal! Food: 5/5
When Korean and Korean grew up, I was a little disappointed about food, the variety of street food, the staff literally did not take the Korean name of food or the banana when I asked for it in Korea, but I liked the establishment of the bar, took me back to the bars in Seoul, Dongducheon, Deagu, Pyongtaek etc. the day. Our waitress was cool.
