Washington Street Diner - Athens

I received a warm and friendly greeting as soon as I arrived, and the service was prompt. The coffee was excellent, and the home-cooked meal was quite satisfying. While the gravy could use a little more flavor—maybe a touch of sausage—everything else was outstanding.

The food was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. I will definitely return!

The reason I gave 3 stars for food was 1 ordered the full ham steak with French toast and 2 over easy eggs the ham steak was dry and so salty and so small i was hoping for a walmart type of hamsteak! the French toast was just 2 slices of bread with over the top ground cinnamon, and they forgot my eggs. But ohhh boy that coffee hands down the best I've had heck it's better than waffle house coffee

This was my first visit, and I was impressed! The breakfast was excellent—pancakes, three eggs, and sausage patties, a classic meal without any frills or pretentiousness. If you want something simple yet delicious, this is definitely the spot for you! The service was also quick and friendly. I will definitely return the next time I’m in the area! Great job!
