La Sabrosura Bakery - Astoria

This is a wonderful spot to grab quick and affordable food. Be sure to try the beef empanadas - they are flavorful and satisfying!

The bakery is tiny, but the service is fast. We ordered cheese pan de leche, empanadas, and coffee. The pan de leche was delicious (a must-try), but the empanadas and coffee were disappointing. We returned and sampled her Yuca-Brot, which was really tasty, but I still prefer the pan de leche.

The Dominican woman who works at the restaurant is just as delightful as the cranberry empanadas.

The service at this restaurant is poor, the coffee is bitter, and the bread is dry. The female servers, with the exception of a short, black-haired Dominican lady, have bad attitudes and appears frustrated. The overall experience at this location and the one on Broadway is unpleasant due to the bad service, bitter coffee, and unfriendly cashiers.

The lunch platter at this restaurant is a great deal at only $10 and comes with a generous amount of delicious food.
