This place has some of the best chiles rellenos I've had in a long while (but you have to order the Pablanos Mama Juanita to get the authentic ones). My only complaint is that they're a little greasy. But the flavour and texture were spot on. My family all liked their food too. Soft Drinks are served in huge tumblers (you're unlikely to run out) and the service is very good. This place even uses fresh jalapeños which I like very much. The pickles ones are disgusting. This place is very Tex-Mex so if you're seeking a bunch of authentic Mexican items this is not that place. The beans are excellent too.
Started out really good food, the last year quality has gone down! Greasy or watery food. They charge u to use a CARD EVEN DEBIT CATD!!!! Stoped going as last 2 times food was water layer under the food, order not correct, wait staff well had to send smoke signals!!!!
I've been visiting this Mi Casita for over a decade and I have a lot to say about it, but I will try to put it as plainly as possible. This place is run by some wonderful friendly. The woman who I believe runs the restaurant is a pretty and friendly Mexican woman who knows me to this day. Especially with many people in Ashville being incredibly racist (despite hypocritically loving Mexican food), I can only imagine what she's gone through and she is still absolutely wonderful. With that said, Mi Casita has been inconsistent over the years. There have been times where their queso and chips and beef have completely changed. And that's why I take a star off. But the past few years, they have been excellent in terms of a cheap local Mexican spot. Very yummy queso, beans, chips, chicken, and everything else. And very generous portions.
The Mexican lasagna is the best thing I've ever had at any Mexican restaurant. Trust me. You will love it.
Our favorite Mexican food around. Consistently good food. Fresh chips and great salsa. Very nice staff.
