Bad River Lodge Casino - Ashland

The service was awesome and the place has a lot of potential. It is too bad there are not more Native American food offerings. The staff was treated badly and given $1 tips by other dinners. The offerings in the restaurant should be concise and modern. Believe in your staff and let them soar. The hotel was clean the pool was not clean. Unfortunately, the gift shop does not sell items from the Bad River Tribe. Strangely, they sold generic items. The staff works very and they care a lot, but do not have a lot of resources to work with.

Very disappointed in their Saturday prime rib. The meat was tough and not edible. The staff were too busy to run cocktails and told us to get our own drinks from the bar. The atmosphere was sad and dreary. The fried chicken, just wings and dorm sticks, was okay. I would not go back.

I stayed at the hotel on July 27, 2023, and found it to be clean and quiet, providing me with a good night's sleep. The hotel staff were friendly and professional, and overall, it offered great value for the price—much more affordable than options in nearby Ashland. I can’t comment on the casino as I didn’t use it, but I did visit the convenience store next door, which had all the snacks and beverages I was looking for.

I didn't try my luck at gambling. The gift shop was quite disappointing; I was hoping to find some fun pins and postcards, but unfortunately, neither was available. For lunch, we ate at the restaurant. I ordered the $7 fish sandwich, which was mostly good, though I would have preferred more tomatoes and lettuce. My friend had the $7 steak sandwich and was very pleased with it. There was also a $12 brunch buffet available, and I might have chosen that if it were 9:00 AM, but since it was already 1:30 PM, it didn't make sense.

I'm not trying to be harsh, but I think they should consider dropping "River" from their name. It was honestly the worst experience. The slot machines didn't even function properly, and the bar was a complete letdown.
