Contribuiți la feedbackWe ended up at this restaurant after running out of fuel, and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The owner even brought my husband to the local garage. The pub was cozy inside with a wide selection of beers. We will definitely be returning as the menu looked very appealing.
We were surprised by the negative reviews, as we found the service and food to be quite good. Customers order and receive their utensils from the bar, which is reasonable, and the menu is displayed on boards. Our group of five was celebrating a 97th birthday, and the staff was very helpful. The menu featured a variety of roasts and a la carte options, which is not common for a Sunday. We brought our own cake, which the staff kindly added candles to and presented well. Although the staff seemed new and a bit inexperienced, we had a pleasant meal and received attentive service. We would recommend giving them a chance.
We arrived at the restaurant to find a full parking lot, but there were no immediate alarm bells. Despite being told that the roast beef had sold out, we decided to opt for the roast chicken instead. Unfortunately, it was absolutely terrible! The calamari starter had an odd texture and was tasteless. The chicken was unseasoned and bland, with only two new potatoes and watery frozen vegetables. The parsnip batons were soggy, and we had to ask for more gravy. Other diners around us also had issues with their meals, and there were mix-ups with condiments and desserts. The server was friendly, but the lack of organization was evident. Overall, we would recommend avoiding this restaurant.
This used to be a really good place to eat with difficulty getting in. We should have guessed an empty car park on a Saturday was a warning. The chap behind the bar was very pleasant and the decor wasn't bad. The food was terrible...the meat tough, reheated roast potatoes from the day before rock hard vegetables. unbelievably half a pickled egg and great chunks of bread in the cesear salad! No comment was made about the amount of food left on plates, a dead give away all is not well. The one thing that was good was the coffee although it just came with milk in a glass mug, no question if you wanted milk. We just paid the bill and got out. If they want to stay in business they need to do a lot lot better. It was a down the drain! Don't bother
Turned up on a Saturday rainy lunchtime, hardly anyone in the place. We wanted a cooked lunch, but unfortunately there wasn’t much on offer on the menu. I explained that I was a Coeliac and needed to have gluten free, and the lady who I...presume was either the manager/landlady offered to do anything I wanted. She explained to me what she had in the kitchen. So I had a cooked chicken breast/bacon in a gluten free roll, side salad and chips. Husband had burger etc. Food was fine, and we appreciated her help! Disappointing for this use to be a busy place, with an excellent menu!
