Food Quarter at the STAR HOTEL

We had the specials that were only $15 dollars. Great value which included a wine! The place was very busy and the tables were in such a mess. Not sure if they were unstaffed but we waited forever to have our table cleaned. Felt very unhygienic and with so many unmasked people, a covid nightmare.

The food was cheap and tasty, but it's basically like a cafeteria, so the customer service is essentially non-existent, and it's quite difficult to find a table to sit down to eat your food. Staff at the cash register also seemed to be clueless about the applicability of Star issued discount coupons, and how to use them, and which menu items they could be used on. I wouldn't go back for an evening meal, but would do lunch there again though, entirely due to the cheap and tasty food.

After watching a matinee preview of Hamilton, my wife and I were in search of a nice dinner and opted for a simple Malaysian meal. Staying at the Star for the night due to heavy rain, we decided to dine at a restaurant located on the first floor at the end of the main casino gaming area. Finding seating to be limited, we initially sat at the western end but quickly moved due to cold air-conditioning vents. Table service was minimal, with patrons required to collect their own meals from the cashier. Despite this, the staff taking orders were kind and helpful. My wife ordered Bah Kut Teh ($26.90), which consisted of slow-cooked pork ribs and belly, bean curd, lettuce, herbal broth, and jasmine rice. I opted for Char Kway Teow ($19.90), a dish of flat rice noodles with prawns, Chinese sausage, egg, bean sprouts, and Hocks Secret soy sauce. While we were satisfied with the portions and pricing, the food left us unexpectedly thirsty due to the use of MSG. Knowing the negative effects of MSG, we have decided not to return to this establishment.

The staff at this restaurant are always eager to serve customers with a smile. The food is consistently freshly prepared and delicious, with new specials offered every week.

This is my favorite restaurant in the casino. The prices are very reasonable considering its location in the casino. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. They offer great deals, like the $15 special that includes a drink. Their coffee is top-notch and overall it's a great experience. I would highly recommend it! 10/10.
