Yao Buffet Sushi Grill - Asheville

I really enjoy this buffet! It offers everything you could want in a large buffet experience. The food is delicious, hearty, and fresh. The atmosphere is pleasant and soothing, with plenty of seating available. The servers are prompt in bringing drinks and clearing away dirty dishes. I definitely recommend it if you're feeling hungry!

Ignore the naysayers. After trying every buffet in Asheville for the past 20 years, I can confidently say this one is the best! It ranks #1 in my book, followed by Two Kites in Brevard at #2, Shogun Buffet at #3, and Asiana at #4. They’re all quite good and pretty close in quality, but this place stands out. I had no complaints at all. Everything I tried was top-notch, and at $14 for dinner in 2022, it’s a fantastic deal!

The food was replenished while we were dining, ensuring that fresh options were available as guests arrived. The sushi was fresh and not tough, and the buffet continuously showcased new dishes. The chicken pho noodles were among the best I've had at a buffet, and the pad Thai tasted as authentic as what you'd find in a sit-down restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised to find items like Vietnamese spring rolls, taro buns, tom yum soup, and a whole section dedicated to ice cream toppings, with the ice cream already served for you. They also offered a variety of vegetarian choices. Overall, they have a solid approach to meeting their customers' needs. I had a pleasant experience, though I deducted a star for the older food. However, the fresh offerings were impressive, and the place was clean. Personally, I prefer this buffet over Asiana in Skyland. They also have good safety precautions in place, making it nice to have a quality buffet on this side of the city.

Food was great and they have a lot to choose. The staff is polite and attentive. Very clean.

I had hibachi grilled steak with veggies and noodles. Along with a variety of sushi, sashimi, dumplings, and ribs. I started it of with a seafood curry.
