Admiral - Asheville

Service is great. The restaurant is dated and needs some love. But, it fits the neighborhood. Ribeye was perfect. 9/10. Scallops were tasty but too few. Hen of the Woods Mushrooms were tasteless themselves. But, the sauce was impressively flavorful. Definitely overpriced. True value is what the market is willing to pay. And, the place was slammed. So, their pricing is right on.

Very disappointing overall. Food description looked great on the menu, but the taste was just ok in reality. Service was not warm or welcoming. Very disappointing experience. I heard great things about Admiral but unfortunately it did not live up to its reputation. We probably interacted with six or seven of the employees there and none of them could even muster up a smile. It felt like we were doing them a favor by being there. Even when we asked to taste a couple of wines, they were not enthusiastic at all. Fried pickles were undercooked, snapper crudo was very small and not tasty, kohrabl was good i have to admit. Pappardelle was very average. They are using canned artichokes
