12 Bones Smokehouse River - Asheville

My wife and I came out this way to experience some of the art studios next door, and it was recommended to us. Holy cow! Is it good! Best damn BBQ in North Carolina, hands down! There was nothing we didn't like about our experience here. Even took a bottle of their Spicy Vinegar BBQ (oh so good! sauce home for later. We are both looking forward to the next visit. Highly recommend everything!! Lol

Food was wonderful. Very flavorful, tender, all around delicious. The peanut butter pie was outstanding. We will definitely be back the next time we come to town.

The food is phenomenal. Service was great. All employees are super friendly. We highly recommend this barbecue place.

If you like bbq, then you will love this place. Make sure you check for when they are open, as we went by on a Saturday, and they were closed. The meat is fantastic, and the sides are awesome. I had the pulled pork plate, which comes with 2 sides, and I added a taste of ribs (3 ribs) with the pineapple habanero sauce. The ribs fell off the bone and had a crispyness to it and were simply delicious. The sides I had were cheese and jalapeno grits, and the smoked potato salad. Both sides were great. Some people had the mac n cheese, the fried pickles, and a couple of other sides, which were also all delicious. The kicker was the prices. My plate minus the 3 ribs was $16. The portions are sizable, and all of us were stuffed when we left. This is a must if you go to Asheville. Be warned there is a line that forms so be prepared.
