al Lago - Ascona

If there is a lot of pressure in the restaurants on the lake promenade, there is a pleasant atmosphere in the beautiful gardens of al Lago, the tables are at a pleasant distance from each other, the service is courteous and the food was also very good, with the exception of the menu salad.

SERVICE: very pleasant, organized, professional and very friendly and always with a laugh. FOOD: very tasty. Fair portions. AMBIENCE: beautiful, romantic and right on the lake. Beautiful for a date night. Very quiet location and still right on the beautiful lake promenade. RESERVE: Be sure to reserve a table 2-5 days before your visit. (the tables “directly by the lake” are quickly booked out)

Wir waren das erste mal im Al Lago. Der Service war gut und sehr bemüht. Das Essen war ein Traum und die Portionen, gegen unseren Erwartungen gross. Wir kommen bei unserem nächsten Tessin aufenthalt gerne wieder vorbei.

...aber wir wurden nicht bedient respektive mussten das Restaurant wieder verlassen, weil wir uns zu viert an einen 2er-Tisch (hätte gut für 4 Personen gereicht) setzen wollten, der schön beschattet war. Sie boten uns nur einen Tisch an der prallen Sonne an. Leider ist dieses Verhalten in den Sommermonaten Typisch für einige Lokalitäten in Ascona. Im Herbst/Winter, wenn nicht mehr so viele Touristen da sind, wird das Personal dann wieder "freundlicher"...
