The Black Rabbit was highly recommended to us. Regards the views it was deserving of the recommendation. Food was good on the whole. Service consists of paying in advance for the food and drinks. I had to take my own drinks to my table. We asked for a table inside only to be told that all the tables were reserved, 12 tables. Their last food order was at 21.30. We sat outside under an awning so as not to get wet from the rain. By 21.30 none of the supposedly reserved tables arrived. Waitresses would walk by and not remove our finished plates. A let down in service standards. Only made up for by the exquisite views. Would we return I think not as it was quite expensive also.
A nice, classic pub, ideally situated if you're walking around the Arundel wetlands about the halfway point. There's picknick tables outside with a brilliant nature view, while the pub's inside looked pretty fancy. An excellent spot for hikers (and their dogs) to enjoy a well deserved drink. One word of warning for parents: I did not see any playground stuff, and there is a (very quiet, but public) road between the pub and the outside seating.
Long time since we have been here. Even before this one was born. Still lovely food. Great service beautiful location. The fact my boy sat in Harry Potter's boat made his day. Making your child happy.TICK. Public launch for paddle boards and kayaks would be awesome. My wife always loved your ploughman's. See you again soon. Just one small thing beautiful soup (tomato an pepper however you want a chunk of bread not a slice. Sorry to be picky.
Second visit, we'd previously popped in for a drink, and liked it so booked an evening meal. The staff were very helpful as my wife is a celiac so offered her a gluten free menu. The food and drinks were very nice, we had a lovely time. The pub is a great venue right next to the river. Inside is also very interesting, we loved it. The staff were great, it seems very popular and we would certainly recommend
