Marco Polo - Arona

Sangria was very sweet with like no alcohol. Creamy mushroom soup was made from bag (water with powder). For the main course we ordered paella. There we found cinder from cigarette.

Have eaten here twice and both times the meals were superb. The tapas was very good on our first visit. Second time we chose from the main menu and all three courses were very enjoyable. We can't say what their fixed price menu is like as we haven't sampled it but given the standard of the meals we have had I think it will be good. The service is very friendly but expect a wait after ordering as the dishes are obviously freshly cooked. Their prices are also quite reasonable.

We visited Marco Polo tonight and ordered tapas for starters then two mains. We were served raw chicken thighs as part of the starter so asked to cancel the mains, pay the bill and leave. After a bit of apprehension, even though the waitress admitted she wouldn't have eaten the chicken, we were allowed to pay and leave. Waiting staff are lovely, drinks and food not so much also there was no toilet roll in the toilets so that was also a negative.

Value for money. The food is good, the beer is cold. Enough said! Cocktails are fresh and delicious, served in decorative glasses can’t go wrong.

Whilst on a walk we called into Marco Polo for drinks to watch the sunset over the sea food value drinks we looked at the food being served and it looked fantastic we both agreed we will return and try
