Retro - ARONA

Popped in for aperitivo, and discovered they have a great range of gin. So we tasted a few local, some Italian and some French. The team there know their stuff. They have fever tree and Schweppes tonic. They serve a modern G&T in a large glass, and beware, the drinks are at least one and a half shots. The aperitivo plate is ok, and the service is very good. It's a busy bar, with outside seating in the place for good weather.

Every time we go back to Arona we stop at Retro for a bite. Nice sandwiches with great ingredients. My younger son had chicken wings and he loved them. For a quick bite it’s a perfect choice in Arona.

If you pop in here for aperitivo you’ll probably miss dinner! They give you such a huge plate of food, all of which was lovely. However we did find it odd the pizza had such a large doughy base

The restaurant seating is open air overseeing the lake at the Square which the setting attracted us so much to make us stop by for a drink to relax and enjoying the good view and feel. It's really made me feel so calm and treasure the moment with the surrounding atmosphere! We just ordered wines but it came with complimentary Bread cum Snack platter surprised !

Came here to soak up so much needed sun in the square. We came here daily for pre dinner Aperol Spritz. Lovely staff, lovely drinks. But the best part is sitting with an uninterrupted view of the lake. Delightful and peaceful.
