My wife and I went to high point last night. we weren't there in 12 months. I had a ripp. it was a catastrophe. chewy as a rubber band. I always thought a person could depend on the tenderness of a ribeye, especially prepared by a professional cook. the waitress danielle was very friendly and attentive. she took my ribeye back to the chef and he tried to cook by rare to medium rare. it didn't work. danielle asked me if she could replace a filet instead of ribeyes. I said, of course, she brought back a filet that was not tenderer than the ribeye. What's the matter that I asked? I suppose they had only less than high-quality meat. that's all I have to say, I'm not back in high point restaurant.
The haw was dry, the service was moderate and the building smells like urin. my waiter was rude, left us in the middle and my friend had to eat his cheeseburger without cheese. also the bathrooms are not proud of it.
Unfortunately the Hi-Point was the low point of our Okoboji dining experiences. This location a beautiful view of the Lake but traditionally high turnover of restaurants over the years. One would expect better now that the building owner owns the restaurant. But selling boats is different than owning a restaurant. It is apparent that without the restaurant owner present, the food suffered the night we dined.
Extremely slow drink service, wrong dinner orders, missing pieces of meals, had to repeatedly ask for steak knives. Asked for medium steak, got a well done.
