City Dock Coffee - Arnold

I want to love this place so Badly as I've lived in the neighborhood for three years now and want to support local business ! Unless you have half an hour built into your busy schedule to get your coffee this is the place for you. Service is so slow and the baristas are all miserable but don't forget to tip ! Wish this place would get better.

Was second in line. The person in front of me completed their order. I was next and about to order when the cashier/ barista stepped away to start making the order for the couple behind me (cappuccinos and gluten free sandwiches). Bottomline: you don't ignore and skip customers. I don't think it was the owners (good business practice is let paying customers go first) and I don't care if it's your regular customer (we were becoming regular customers since we live only .6 miles away). Too many coffee places to deal with bad customer service. Thank you, never coming back.

The service is here mediocre. Most of the baristas appear to be apathetic teenagers who think pajamas are clothes. The brewed coffee is over roasted (but less so than Starbucks) but they have a breadth of syrups to drown out their coffee so it kind of evens out? The food and pastries are decent. Most of the pastries are made in-house. However, everything is wrapped in plastic which looks unappealing and concerns me regarding freshness. The atmosphere feels funky if we 're being generous, downmarket if we 're not. Price range is on par with Starbucks. I really want to like this place because it 's not a chain and it 's near my house but it 's not as good as ceremony, bean rush or rise up.

Coffee is good and unusually fresh, muffins are fresh and bagels are delivered regularly. The staff is always friendly and polite and the space is clean. With the new parking area it is much easier to get in and out. Also the artwork is all for sale, always fun to look at and can be a great way to make changes in your home while supporting local artists!

Stopped here for some quick breakfast. I had a blueberry muffin which was tasty. We also had a lemon cake, very lemony, it seemed a bit not so fresh though. I also had a coffee which was good. I would be back here if I went to this area much. I normally go to the one down town when I do although they seem pretentious sometimes (as if you need to be a regular). But when I go to the one off the main street by the more eclectic shops down town (but not right in city dock area) it's way better! They are nice and kind. All the City Dock Coffee locations are cozy and have great ambiance. They have just enough seating areas and are always warm. I will still use them from time to time but the one right in DTA on city dock I stopped using only because they were not very friendly.
