Pablos Cantina & Taqueria - Armidale

Freezing, freezing, freezing! In Armidale you need heaters, the meal average, we all had upset stomachs that night. The service well obviously new staff, confusion over every order we made, no communication between the staff, drinks were slow. We waited about 1/2 hour to get a beer.I think there could be a lot of improvement. I thought long and hard about writing this review, I hope the owners can take the positive out of this and fix things.

We had a delightful dinner at Pablo's. The restaurant was busy and had new staff being trained, but the live music kept us entertained while we waited. The corn chips with three sauces for starters were perfect. I had the Enchiladas for my main course, which was delicious and a great value - I couldn't even finish it. My partner ordered the special pork belly, which they enjoyed despite the small portion size for the $28 price. The only downside was the door in front of us that wouldn't shut completely, letting in a cold draft. Despite this inconvenience, we had a very enjoyable dining experience overall.

The food at this restaurant was delicious, and despite being a busy night, the service was satisfactory. However, we were unfortunately seated at a table near the main door, which caused some issues. Every time the door was opened, the exhaust fan in the kitchen interfered with the door's automatic closing mechanism, leaving it open by about 10 cm. This allowed freezing air to blast into the restaurant, making it very uncomfortable. My friend and I had to get up numerous times to try and close the door, which greatly affected our enjoyment of the evening.

Could not work out type of food. Ordered a gin & tonic before ordering. No gin, so owner raced out to buy from up the road, so I sat. During this time I was asked about six times to order. Said I was waiting for my gin first. Friendly staff.Gin arrived - nice, then ordered. Didn't recognise anything on menu except corn chips with avo and sour cream. Wanted about ten chips only - got a dinner plate full. Very ordinary.Main was a 'bowl' something with rice - filling but no taste.Then just plain ice cream.I've tried it now but not again.

The menu at this restaurant is impressive, offering more than just your typical Mexican dishes. The burritos were delicious, and the margaritas were strong, just like you would expect from a Mexican restaurant. However, the prices were a bit on the expensive side.
