Sawatdee Thai - Arlington

This is my favorite Thai restaurant. They serve Sapporo on draft, and their menu has a great variety of options. The best part is that you can add or double any vegetable to your dish for just a couple of dollars—choices include bok choy, broccoli, cabbage, and more. The family service is attentive and welcoming. The restaurant is located in an upscale, walkable area that isn’t too crowded. Just thinking about how I’ll customize my next entrée is making me hungry (and thirsty)!

The server never approached my table to check if everything was alright, refill my water, ask if I wanted to order anything else, or provide me with the bill and a to-go box. I ended up getting up to pay for my meal and mentioned my concerns to the manager, who just apologized for the server's lack of attention and said she'd have a talk with her. The entree and drink were average at best. This was my first visit, and it will also be my last.

Small portions, an unclear menu, soggy dishes, and lackluster service. The waiter didn’t check if I needed napkins or drink refills, simply dropped the food at the table without saying a word or making eye contact, then vanished. I'd recommend dining elsewhere.

The food in this place used to be good. Used to. Lately it?s very bad. The good reviews are old and they must have changed chef. Last time we went we took a seafood pad Thai and it was full of a weird sweet lime-y slimy sauce. The noodles were not good, and the fish smelled too ?fishy? (bad sign). Overall, it felt like the meal was re-heated in the microwave. After we left we had to run to the bathroom. You are warned.

Best part was the exceptionally nice and quick staff. Everything came out quickly. Shout out to the bartender, drinks were great and relatively cheap (under $10 each). My only issue is that the pad Thai we ordered just felt very wet and heavy? maybe a bit overcooked. But everything else we got was good, I would come back. Plenty vegetarian and vegan options. They even asked me if having the egg in my dish was okay! That was very thoughtful.
