Blue Ribbon Bbq - Arlington

I recently tried ordering takeout for the first time from this restaurant and I was extremely satisfied with my meal. I ordered the full slab of ribs, collard greens, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw. I am a picky eater when it comes to coleslaw, but I was impressed with how well they made it without using eggs. The mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery, and the collard greens were delicious. The ribs were cooked perfectly, and the sauce was served on the side. While I have seen mixed reviews online, I highly recommend giving this place a chance. I am so glad I did. This restaurant serves the best smoked meat I have ever had, even compared to places down south. My boyfriend introduced me to this place four or five years ago, and despite the long drive and difficulty in getting there, we make regular trips because the food is just that good. The outdoor seating is ideal for enjoying a bite before taking it home, as this food is too delicious to resist. Thank you for serving some of the best food I have ever had from any restaurant anywhere!

I wanted to try a new restaurant and decided to order the pulled pork and BBQ chicken combo with mashed potatoes, beans, and cornbread. The potatoes and cornbread were really delicious and I was excited. However, the pork and beans had an overpowering taste of vinegar, which I did not enjoy. The chicken was just okay. I couldn't even finish the beans and pork after a couple of bites and had to throw them away. I felt like I wasted $20. I was so disappointed, especially since the restaurant had good reviews. Maybe I just got a bad batch? Either way, I don't plan on going back. I would rate the meal 2 stars for the potatoes, cornbread, and chicken.

If you looking for some real barbecue dishes southern style, Blue ribbon is by far the best. The best caterer in the area for summer events and gatherings. Their menu is constantly changing on a daily basis providing specials in very unique sandwichesthat you're not going to see anywhere else like for instance a chopped chicken sandwich infused with blueberry habanero saucewith a side of Jamaican jerk chicken mac and cheese? You can find Blue ribbon in Arlington and there's one in NewtonMassachusetts as well. If you're coming to visit the Boston area do not miss on this place if you like barbecue.

I really want to like the BBQ from this place but for me my ribs were too dry and overly smokey and over sauced for my tastes. I ordered ribs, baked beans, and coleslaw. The ribs were a dry but had a thick layer of sauce. The beans were about15% sauce. The coleslaw was good. The ribs just had this overpowering sauce and smoke combo. Smoked is good. But this seemedtoo smoked. Maybe it was because it was late in the day. Maybe this is how the Carolina style bbq is supposed to be. If that'sthe case disregard my review.
