Contribuiți la feedbackHad a family meal here while staying at Hunters Quay Holiday Park. The food was great and the staff were friendly and attentive. One of the most enjoyable meals out in a while thanks to great staff and the chef/ lovely food I don't know where the cherry tomatoes served with the steak were from but they were the sweetest and tastiest tomatoes I have ever tried.
We always bring our kids to the restaurant at the leisure center for dinner. The food is usually spot on, and this time was no different - the food was good. However, this time the issue was with the alcohol shortage. We usually have a couple of halves of Hendrick's gin when we visit, but this time they had run out. My wife decided to go for the small Prosecco bottle, but that was also out of stock. We ended up having to order a normal sized bottle at a price of £25 each, but even that was out of stock. It was disappointing to find that they were out of these popular drinks, especially during the busy summer season.
I visited a restaurant on Saturday night, only to be told that it was full and all tables were reserved. Despite there being only 14 people eating at that time, the staff seemed overwhelmed with bookings. Disappointed, we decided to go to The Lorne in Dunoon, where we received fantastic service and exceptional food. Upon returning to the original restaurant, I found that all tables were still reserved. I spoke to someone who claimed to be the manager, but was not in uniform. She mentioned that they had many big bookings coming in, and advised me to book a table 3 days in advance. This poor customer service left me disappointed, and I would not recommend this restaurant. The Lorne offers better value for money and superior service. It seems that this site's services are declining quickly, and I urge them to listen to their customers and make improvements promptly.
I was in Dunoon for the Scottish Rally Championship event and needed to feed the service crews after a long day of setting up cars before the evening stages. Although the reviews were not great, I must say that my experience was quite enjoyable. The staff were all very polite and attentive, drinks were served promptly, orders were taken efficiently, and the food was well cooked and nicely presented without any delays. While the restaurant primarily served those staying on the site, it was good value for money.
As guests at the Holiday Village we thought we would try out the on-site restaurant. We were made to feel welcome on arrival and shown to our pre-booked table (which is a must). The food tasted lovely and arrived promptly after ordering. Only issue was an incorrect steak, I asked for blue it was just rare but I know this can vary from chef to chef. Plus the amount of oil/water on the plate made the chips swim before eating, I should have left them in the pot (see pic). Sadly after our main meal arrived the service sadly went “down hill”. We waited over 25mins after finishing before anyone came to take our used plates and ask if we wanted puddings. Even though we were seated to the left of the servers desk. We ordered our puddings and these arrived fine and also ordered a drink, the drink did not arrive as the server passed this to another server and gave him the wrong table number, so instead of him asking the other server again he just left it. When I asked if I could have a coffee I was told ‘NO’ as they were cleaning the coffee machine, this was 45mins before they closed. Not sure why you would do this when you still have customers in the restaurant. Sadly not the best restaurant for customer service, however the food was acceptable.
