We stopped at this cafe because of the nice view of Loch Lomond, but we should have continued on. There was only one staff member working, and there was a lot of used dishes still on the tables and stacked up in the kitchen. The girl working seemed bored and uninterested in her job, and when my son asked for a clean cup, it seemed like a hassle. The cake we had was okay, but we were concerned about the hygiene and cleanliness of the cafe.

We stopped at this restaurant on our way back from our holiday for a quick breakfast, but wish we had kept driving past. It was such a disaster that we couldn't help but burst out laughing when we got back in the car. We ordered three breakfasts and an egg roll for our vegetarian daughter, along with tea and coffee. Unfortunately, everything was terrible - the coffee was cold, the tea had a strange aroma, the bacon was a weird grey color, the sausage was like cardboard, the black pudding was hard on the outside and raw on the inside, the potato scones were extremely greasy, and the eggs were inedible. We recommend avoiding this place at all costs. Consider yourself warned.

I have been visiting this cafe every year for over 25 years while passing through the Highlands. In the past, I always received a warm welcome, good food, and lovely service. However, since it changed ownership two years ago, the quality has significantly declined. During my visit on July 23rd, 2016, the cafe was busy both inside and outside, but the service was slow, unhelpful, and unfriendly, especially from the lady behind the counter. The seating arrangement made it uncomfortable to sit without disturbing other customers, despite there being ample space. The food was mediocre and the toilets were dirty and unsanitary. I raised my concerns with the staff, but was met with silence and no apology. The lack of hygiene rating displayed on the premises was concerning. I would advise anyone who used to enjoy this cafe to avoid it now to avoid disappointment. It is a shame to see such a beautiful location and cafe deteriorate in just a couple of years.

The ambiance of a truckers cafe! Dirty, greasy floors, and the place smells like old chip fat. They have a good coffee machine but still managed to serve the most disgusting coffee I have ever tasted. Served in a paper cup instead of the cups they had on the coffee machine. Looks like someone doesn't like doing dishes. Carrot Cake was good but the guy just put it on a serviette and dumped it on the counter, had to ask for a plate ans go in search of a fork! These people have absolutely no concept of hospitality! What a waste of such a nice location. Do yourself a favour and give it a miss!

We found a free table in the lovely garden and ordered lunch here on a very busy Sunday. The staff were run off their feet but pleasant and helpful, and we didn't mind lingering with several drinks over a rather long wait for our food. Alas, my steak, ordered medium rare, arrived overcooked to the point of shoe leather. Normally I would just have sent it back and asked for an edible replacement, however, there were queues at the bar and the order point, and no-one came to ask if everything was all right with our meal. It was easier to just grin and bear it rather than delay our lunch by another hour or so. My husband's fish was only average, and I'd say think twice before eating here unless you can see an efficient staff/customer ratio.
