La Grotta - ARENZANO

Pizza MERAVIGLIOSA... ENORME......VELOCISSSIMA....devo aggiungere altro? Personale gentilissimo ,genuinitá di prodotti...e se volete assaporare un OTTIMO minestrone di pasta fresca con PESTO .... Ecco dove DOVETE fermarvi! Bellissimo poi il terrazzo all'aperto sul caruggio. Consigliatissimo.

Il solo fatto che il titolare sia Lo stesso da quarant'anni dice quanto sia valido il locale, nei tavolini sopra la piazzetta si sta benissimo e le pizze sono ottime.

Frequentiamo da diversi anni questo locale che per noi rappresenta la tradizionale Pizza di Arenzano. Una pizza molto grande, bassa e croccante nelle varie specialità tradizionali e anche particolari. La si assapora sotto gli ombrelloni disposti sulla piazzetta con un servizio al tavolo gestito da giovani ragazzi simpatici.

I have been in Arenzano for 9 Days and have sampled different restaurants. Sadly La Grotta was a disappointment. The waitstaff do not even smile or make you feel welcome. WORSE! ... I don’t speak Italian and the waiter does not speak English! My partner inquired if he spoke French or Portuguese. Grudgingly, our unfriendly waiter mumbled in French. He was just unsmilingly indifferent when probed about items on the menu. Thanks to the helpful patron at the table next to us; we settled on Stoccafisso alla ligura: one of the specialities of the day; namely stockfish and vegetables. It looked like a dish of fish and vegetable soup, with diced carrots, softly done potatoes and olives. I guess one needs to develop a palette for certain dishes. The fish, unfamiliar to me, smelt worst than it tasted. I would give it a 4/10. The vegetable and the soupy texture was delicious, but the fish, I did not find appetizing. I have enjoyed discovering all the alluring ristorantes in tantalizing narrow streets and seductive hidden corners of Arenzano, but La Grotta, I would totally skip in the future. So I do not recommend La Grotta ... no! Not because of the food, but the poor, indifferent and unfriendly service ruined it for me!

The best pizza on our trip in Italy!! : The pizza menu is big, with lots to choose from. Small and cosy restaurant.
