I visited this restaurant this morning and had coffee and cake, which were fine. However, I was surprised to find that the toilets were located next door in the Menarys shop, upstairs. You need to get a code from the staff to open the toilet door, and the keypad is small and difficult to read. When I finally managed to get the door open, I found that the toilet was not flushing, there was no toilet paper, and the facilities were in a disgusting condition. The other toilet was in the same state. When I complained to a young male staff member, he showed no concern and suggested I take the issue up with Menarys. I argued that if the toilets were for the restaurant's customers, it was their responsibility to ensure they were clean and functional. I was also concerned about the lack of disabled access. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Young lady shouts across counter. Kitchen will be 30 minutes. I would just like coffee and drinks for the kids. Shrug. Another customer pushes in and get served. I’m invisible. So patience. After being invisible for 5 minutes. Decide to leave. Really bad service. Can’t comment on food.

I was having lunch with my husband today, and we decided to eat here. How we are regretting that dodgy decision! . I ordered poached eggs on toast with bacon. I asked for.soft eggs, as I really don't enjoy eggs cooked any way other than really soft. I was assured theyde be soft. My husband ordered burger and chips. Our lunch arrived. If I had dropped the eggs onto the floor, they would have bounced back up. So I returned them. They came back around 10 minutes later. They were slightly softer than before, so I settled for them. The rest of the food had obviously been reheated in a microwave including the toast. It was all dried up and chewy. The toast was more like crispy bread, than toast. I had asked for 2 slices of black pudding at the beginning. It had also been reheated, and was dried up and crisped. The cost of the 2 bits of black pudding was £4 . I thought that was a bit steep. As for husbands burger and chips. He had 2 two ounce burgers topped with a cheese slice, and a handful of overcooked fries. This lunch experience almost spoiled our lovely day out. On the plus side, the staff were nice. Pleasant and friendly. Just think they definitely need to retrain or change their kitchen staff!

Attended recently with a friend at this local cafe. I ordered the all day advocate smash breakfast, which was delivered to me by pleasant and helpful staff. The dish was very tasty.

Expensive for what you get coffee left an aftertaste. We were not sure whether the varnish on the tables was meant to be 'stressed ' we found it a bit sticky and wondered if it harboured germs! Toilets had no paper or soap : C Staff very busy, some left us feeling we were imposing on them: while one girl was friendly and helpful unfortunately a male employee was quite curt and not helpful. Do not feel encouraged to return or recommend to others. Overall we were quite disappointed.
