Positano Ristorante - Ardmore

We decided to try Positanos one night, and the first thing we noticed is that we were the ONLY there at 6:00 on a Saturday night. No good sign. My friend ordered a glass of Bogle Chardonay. This bottle costs $11 in the store. Here they loaded $12 for half a glass. Strike 1. Then she ordered the Mozzarella tomato remover, which should have olive oil and fresh basil. When it came, it had only Balsamico vinegar. When we asked the waiter, he said they were from basil (serious) and it was olive oil in the table. He should have said they didn't have these things. Strike 2! I ordered the Veal Chop with medium and she ordered the shrimp scampi in white sauce. My hops was RAW and her meal looked like a monkey through him and there was no sauce at all. I told the waiter what a shame this place was and we left. At 6:40 we were the only ones in there. I gotta tell you something.

Excellent dinner. The food was great, specially the broccoli rabe and sausage and also the doversole.

Place looked absolutely amazing, was all ready to have a special dinner out for my anniversary. Atmosphere was wonderful and the service was good, but the food was strangely tasteless. Maybe we went on a bad night, but it was an expensive restaurant price for cafeteria quality food.

HORRIFIC! This is actually the first time I’m ever writing a review... it was bad enough that I want to make sure no one else has this experience. It was for my mothers birthday I made reservations for my family to go out. I took a cake with me to surprise her. They brought bread to the table we asked for the bread to be heated up, they said they could t do that but they offered garlic bread. We ordered our meals no one liked the bland food. MOST IMPORTANTLY my mom started choking she pull out a piece of aluminum from the back of her throat. We were then told it was a bristle from the chef cleaning the grill and that it’s rare for this to happen!!! Then the manager came out to apologize and said I understand you have a cake for a bday is that correct...?!?! I let him know he ruined the surprise!! The did us a “favor” and did not charge for my moms meal. NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN!!!

The food was excellent, albeit very expensive (and unnecessarily so). The wait staff was curt and indifferent. There are other fine restaurants in the vacinity that serve Italian food. I see no particular reason to return to this establishment.
