Pomodoros Greek Italian Cafe-south

Of the options we have in the immediate area, Pomodoros South has quickly become our go to take out restaurant over the course of the past year. Ample portion sizes, reasonable price, homemade flavors, and always speedy service. Their cannolis have become a favorite household dessert!

Excellent food. We did curbside pickup. It worked great! The truffle ravioli was amazing!

Very nice restaurant and ambiance with nice and friendly staff. Food was good, tasty, fresh, made to order, quality ingredients and well made. Specials are good and the experience makes it better.

We were pleasantly surprised by the flavor packed into our dishes! Can’t wait to enjoy again!

We decided to treat ourselves to a nice Italian restaurant during a long Valentine’s Day weekend getaway. Arriving around 7:00 PM on Thursday, we found the place nearly empty, with only about a dozen diners in a spacious room that could accommodate over 150 guests pre-COVID. That should have been a red flag. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, featuring nice artwork on the walls and well-spaced booths that provide some privacy. However, the radio was playing loud rock and pop music from the 60s and 70s, which felt inappropriate for a dining experience—it sounded more like something you’d hear in the kitchen, not the main dining area. While we appreciated the promptness and courtesy of the service, there was an imbalance in our experience. Our server was overly attentive at times but would completely neglect us at others. She descended on us as soon as we were seated, eager to upsell drinks and appetizers. However, she neglected to inform my husband that the veal special he ordered didn’t include a salad or pasta, despite its hefty price tag of nearly $25. Additionally, we were caught off guard when we found out that a quarter loaf of crusty Italian bread with some olive oil came with an extra charge, whereas we thought it was included. When we asked for salt and pepper, our server forgot to bring them, so we had to ask a different staff member. I also had to request a straw for my water and tea from another server. To add to our frustrations, she brought out the entrees before I had even finished my salad. While my lemon ouzo pasta was tasty, the portion felt disappointingly small for its $17 price. After a minute, she returned to check if everything was okay before I even had a chance to sample my meal. She joked about coming back too early, and then minutes later, she returned again, seemingly unaware that we were hoping for a quiet, romantic dinner. I typically don’t mind enthusiastic servers, but in this case, her eagerness felt more like pestering, as she often left before we could ask for anything, took too long to return with items, or simply didn’t bring what we requested. Perhaps we visited on an off night, but we do not intend to return.
