Little Lucharitos - Aquebogue

I'll give it a 4.5. Folks have complained about using a QR code. I'll admit I struggled today, but it worked. Beverages came within less than five minutes and rest of service was very prompt. No silly small talk with people who are already too busy. Our late lunch which for us meant no dinner was ample and tasty.

I visited this restaurant multiple times because I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. They offer outdoor seating as well. However, after my most recent visit, I will not be returning. About a week ago, I went with a friend in search of good Mexican food and a change of scenery from Riverhead. To my surprise, there was a QR code on the table for ordering instead of a traditional menu, which they did have. I expressed to the waitress that I preferred not to order this way and asked if this was a new policy. She informed me that they had implemented the QR code system about two months ago due to a shortage of staff to take orders. I could have understood this if the restaurant was busy, but there were only a few tables occupied, including ours. Despite there being a waiter and waitress, they seemed unable to handle the small number of customers. After some discussion, the waitress agreed to provide us with paper menus and assist us in ordering through the QR code. This completely missed the point, as I had specifically requested a paper menu because I did not trust or prefer to use QR codes for ordering. I am wary of what information may be collected through this system. In my opinion, the elimination of paper menus is unnecessary, especially if the service is lacking due to understaffing. If a restaurant cannot accommodate their customers adequately, they should hire additional staff rather than expecting patrons to take on the responsibility of ordering and potentially paying through a digital system. Ultimately, I informed my friend that I would not be dining there, got up from the table, and left. I have no intention of returning, as there are plenty of other Mexican restaurants that do not employ this method of ordering.

I have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. I visited on a Friday night and even though it was busy, the service was fast. You can order using a QR code on your table and the food arrives promptly. The mint margarita was excellent. The pork nachos were delicious with plenty of toppings. The chicken quesadilla was generous with chicken.

Been a while since we have been out East and had to stop at lucharitos. They changed to a QR CODE menu and ordering system however, their were still servers walking around helping as needed. We sat outside and were quickly brought water. My wife ordered the lavender lemonade, it looked cool however I can't say lavender is something I wanna drink again. We split a carne asada burrito, fried avocado taco which was a special and the lunch deal 3 tacos for $10, we got a carnitas, chicken and beef. I was actually not looking forward to the fried avocado taco but wow was I blown away with how good it was. The carne asada burrito was seasoned well and big. The tacos were stuffed and the beef and carnitas had a lot of flavor however the pulled chicken was a little on the bland side. Definitely recommend giving them a try next time you are out East, and hopefully soon they'll be in Mineola if you're in Nassau.

Was really looking forward to eating here, love Mexican food. We ordered guac and chips to start. The guac was actually very good but the chips were just bland. I wanted fish tacos.... None of their fish options were fried except calamari. I got 3 tacos....a shrimp, lobster mahi-mahi. Again, so bland, if it wasn't for the corn and pickled slaw there would be no taste at all. My husband got the burrito bowl... pulled chicken was tasteless, the ingredients were below standard... no seasoning, again so bland. Won't be back.
