Contribuiți la feedbackWe often order takeaway from this Thai restaurant and the food is usually excellent.Last night we ordered and the service was fairly quick, however our chicken and cashews dish was only half full, which is disappointing.Had my husband noticed before he left he would have pointed it out, however we didn't realise until he returned home. This isn't normal so we'll keep ordering from there but just might check the dishes before we leave!
First of all, the address above is wrong: it's really at 4/18-22 Riseley Street. And it's also known as 'Spirit House; the spirit of Thai'.This is a delightful place, with an 'indoor/outdoor' feel on a good day, that's home to good food and a simple but appropriate (fully licensed) beverage list. The food is subtle and delicious, and if you think it's too 'subtle', they'll gladly bring you extra chilli: "Be careful," the gracious waitress said, "these are really hot!" and they were! :-) The music was soft, and the service gracious and unpretentious.A bit pricey, but worth it!
Colours of Thai nearly lost our custon when the size of mains would have been more suitable for the little people of Gulliver's travel. But, not any more mains have returned to an aceptable size and the choice is wide and varied. My favourate starter is the Tom Yum soup which they will adjust the heat from a mild to wheres my mouth gone. A choice of main ingreadant could be made from prawn chicken or fish (bara) I like the fish. A nightly special for less tan thirty dollars is posted on the wall and while no one in our party has ordered it it always reads very good. One issue, when mains are served the wait staff will offer you rice but they don't leave it at the table, don't be shy in asking for more if required. Coloures of Thai is licenced but the wine list is some what limitedd and gives me the impression that the person making the wine for offer is a non-drinker, it is also BYO, do so.
A lovely restaurant. Started off with warm towels which is a nice touch. We shared the curry puffs which are some of the best we've had. This was followed by the Mango Tango and Fish Salad which is brilliant and the Massaman Lamb Cutlet which was also very tasty. The steamed rice was supplied as needed which I love. Service is very good. BYO is handy. Can recommend.
Have been here several times and it is always delightful. Each time seems better than the last. Highly recommend to anyone who likes a nice venue and beautiful food.
