Big Dipper Ice Cream - Apalachin

I’ve had a frustrating experience at the Big Dipper this year. On three or four occasions, I’ve arrived 20 to 30 minutes before their scheduled closing time of 9 p.m., only to find the place closed. I'm sure I'm not the only customer to experience this. While it might not be a big deal for those who live nearby, it’s a different story for me—I have to drive half an hour to get there. I’ve even called ahead to confirm they were open, only to find it closed when I arrived. I just don’t get why businesses can’t stick to their posted hours. The whole point of having set hours is to serve customers when you’re supposed to be open; it’s frustrating to waste our time. Let’s aim for better in the future, shall we? It’s not that difficult.

There is plenty of parking available, and the outdoor seating areas are pleasant for enjoying a meal with your family.

They closed at 8:00 PM, even though the map indicated they would remain open until 9:30 PM.

Last visit of the season. The excellent ice cream shop will be closing next weekend. September 24th is their last day this year. Always great ice cream, friendly service, and a fun time!

Really good ice cream. They give you huge portions and have dozens of flavors available.
