While their menu is impressive, their Jamaica is made from an artificial syrup rather than actual hibiscus tea leaves. After experiencing the real deal, the syrup version tastes more like colored sugar water—it's nowhere near the quality of a properly made drink. I’ll still visit, but not for the Jamaica, and it’s hard to overlook the absence of that charming gentleman behind the counter every time I went to Carolina's (did he own the place or something? I’m sure you know who I mean). I’m giving this review 5 stars to highlight this issue. I hope others will see it and encourage Adalberto's to improve their drink offerings. Please, guys, reach out to them! I already have!
Well, this is it! I've been visiting Carolina's Antelope on and off for over two years now. Their prices have always been reasonable, especially for a shredded beef enchilada at just $3.58. However, it's all come to an end now, as they closed this location after 13 years in Antelope as of April 30, 2024. I’m quite particular about Mexican food, and while their offerings weren't the best, they were good enough. What I will truly miss, though, is the wonderful staff—everyone there was incredibly nice, helpful, and courteous. God bless you all!
Well, it's no longer Carolinas; it's now Adalbertos. I'm just glad they're still around because I love coming here. My usual California taco was on the menu, and I was thrilled about that. It was delicious—just like I remember—with beef, fries, cheese, cilantro, onions, and tomatoes all perfectly balanced in that lovely double tortilla. You can't go wrong with that! The woman at the front was very nice, and I will definitely be coming back again.
As I'm trying to eat healthier and cut out a lot of carbs I decided to try and find a spot where I can order chile relleno a la carte and receive something that's pretty tasty and mostly good for my diet. We'll, I found it at Carolina's, and this place is not so far away from my house; so that's a good thing. The lady working the counter was great. Friendly, fast, and efficient! The little taqueria is in a strip mall and it's very clean and comfortable, and nicely decorated, too. While it's definitely not the best Mexican food I've ever had, it was good, and it's likely I'll be back.
Located inside a shopping strip, there is plenty of parking and the restaurant is fairly large. I stopped in for a chicken super burrito on my visit. The order took about 10 minutes on a not so busy night. Size wise, the burrito was fairly large and had some heft to it. Inside the burritto, the two main ingredients were refried beans and chicken with a little bit of cheese, and small dollops of sour creme and guacamole. The flavor was a little salty for my liking and overall on the bland side of things. There were two salsas, a green tomatillo and a red chili sauce. The green salsa was pretty good but the red chili sauce was a little to much chili for my preference. Overall I give it two stars, negative points for lack of flavor but it was a large quantity of food.
