China Dragon - Anoka

Customer service was good, but the food was cold. I ordered sweet acid chicken with 2 egg rolls white rice. Is it cold? My egg rolls were stale, the rice was kind of hard, my chicken was over. I also cut what I thought was a big piece of chicken to my surprise it was shrimp. Luckily, I'm not allergic, but if I were? was bad. I should just go to China Dragon in Elk River. Your food is always warm and perfect.

When I used to visit this restaurant more frequently, the staff member would always ask if I wanted my usual order when she welcomed me. It's a nice touch! The food is freshly prepared and stays warm for a surprisingly long time, and it reheats well in the microwave if you save some for later. However, if you’re saving the wontons, I recommend using an air fryer instead of the microwave, as they can become hard and rubbery in texture. Just pop them in the air fryer for three minutes, and they’ll come out almost like new—perhaps a bit crispier, too. The chicken is always excellent, regardless of the dish. The wait times given at the door are generally longer than what you actually experience for pickup, which is a nice surprise. You can easily place orders directly through their website or by calling ahead, and you can pay when you arrive, which is very convenient.

The sesame chicken was just okay; it had too much breading and was sitting in more than half an inch of oil in the container, making most pieces soggy. I ended up spilling some of the oil before I delivered it to the person I ordered it for. The fried rice was simply yellow rice with a few peas, tiny carrots, and onions; nothing special at all. The beef with broccoli was the worst part. There was nothing wrong with the flavor, but the dominant taste was oil—of an unknown type that didn't taste good. The beef seemed cheap, likely drenched in oil to mask its lack of quality, as it had no real texture, just a sliminess from the grease. The vegetables were unremarkable and not fresh, and the sauce was disappointing. It wasn't spicy at all, and the flavor was mostly lost in the oily mess. I suspect many of the positive reviews must be fake because I can't fathom why there would be such high praise for this food. I won’t be returning, as I was very disappointed.

The food at the restaurant was very good! I placed an order through the China Dragon website, and it was supposed to go through DoorDash. However, I received a message from Wells Fargo stating that the transaction had been processed three separate times, and they refused to authorize the payment due to possible fraud. I called and spoke with the manager, requesting a receipt because I never received one. To my frustration, the manager told me she couldn’t provide one. I was charged three times, and the total amount was $117, which was $35 more than the original price I saw when checking out online. After an hour, I noticed that they attempted to charge my account multiple times. I'm not sure why they tried four times when the first transaction went through. I also spoke to the delivery driver to ensure he received the tip I left for him. Overall, I ended up paying significantly more than expected. I don't think I will order again through this service.

We have tried 5 other Chinese restaurants in the area with not good luck, until we found this place! The food here is amazing, best in the twin cities suburbs we have found. Big portion sizes for their take out, we got two nights worth of meals in each container. The wontons are soft with a nice crunch. We got the orange chicken, the happy family from the chefs special, and the thicker noodles, are all so tasty. Egg drop soup is in a huge container too. All the food was steaming hot when we got home 45 minutes later, they did a good job packaging and preparing the food. I think I found our new favorite Chinese Restaurant. If you are looking for a good one in the area, try this one!
