Rive Gauche - Annecy

The children had requested pasta for dinner so as we saw this restaurant did pasta bolognese we decided to head there. We were nearly put off by the previous reviews but very glad we weren’t. We loved the fact for us on a busy warm evening that they don’t take reservations so we turned up about 7.30 pm. We were greeted warmly and told they expected a table for 5 to take 10mins. Spot on. 10 mins later we were shown to our table. The seating is nice as it it off the Main Street but still full of atmosphere. We were served by two girls/ladies and one boy/gentleman. All of whom we considered to be polite and friendly and smiling being helpful whilst ordering and encouraging our efforts at French. The children had their linguine bolognaise which was deemed a success and I had tartiflette, bubbling and hot. Very tasty with green salad and my husband had Lasagne that he enjoyed. For this type of meal we would recommend. We saw others enjoying pizzas too. Well done Rive Gauche on improving your service compared with all the other reviews.

The location is great as the restaurant is nestled at an idyllic alley in Annecy, but the waiters were extremely rude and unhelpful, leading to a poor experience overall. Do not recommend.

Excellent pizza and tartar de boeuf. Great service from young Louis. Speak English and French. Spotless kitchen. Don't know how 3 chefs work in such a small space! Nice house wine! We were lucky to pop in here and find a great restaurant. Many thanks.

We found this place on a quiet night in Annecy. Tartiflette was lovely. Kids had great pasta. Prices are reasonable and great for old town Annecy

In old town adjacent to the canal and triangular old palace prison in the middle of the canal. Very welcoming, popular, friendly, hospitable, and excellent atmosphere with terrific Neapolitan pizza, pasta, and large dinner salads. Axel, a waiter, was very friendly and asked to practice his English while we practiced our French. The pizza marguerita with extra cheese, at E 10, is a steal and we loved it.
