Everything tasted very fresh. The environment of the place was cozy but fancy at the same time it made for a great date night. The only criticism that I would have is that I was placed at a table which you face out to a table across from you with no way to scoot down and face the person im actually eating with and it was a little awkward.I'd definitely recommend Miki if you're in the area!
Good spot for a quick Japanese in Ann Arbour. Our server, Quinn, was amazing. He was so attentive and prompt. We had the shrimp tempura with vegetables which was very nice. Yellow tail ponzu was not the best. The salad and miso starters were very good. The chicken in the bento ? box was very dry. The beef noodles was good. Chicken yakitori was ok.
Authentic, fresh Japanese food in the heart of Ann Arbor! In walking distance to all the shops, a cozy, intimate place to share with a loved one, friends and family! I greatly enjoyed the excellent food, relaxing ambiance, and the authentic decor.

I have been going to Miki's for around 30 years. It has always been a wonderful place with excellent food and good service. Not this time around. My father arrived before the rest of us, and although the restaurant was almost completely empty (at 6 pm on a Friday night in Ann Arbor that should have been a clue), they made him stand outside and wait and did so in a rude tone. We encountered other unfriendly employees there who seemed unhappy and rather unfortunately bound by rules that made no sense and inconvenienced the customer. One of our favorite dishes was gone from the menu, and the waitress had never even heard of it. The sushi was served immediately after we got the miso and salad, which we never had a chance to eat. And worst of all, the sushi wasn't very good and made us all feel very bloated. We have never had that happen before in any sushi restaurant. It's sad to see these changes in customer service and food quality in what was such an iconic Ann Arbor restaurant.
