Izzy's Hoagie Shop - Ann Arbor

Best Cheesesteak in SE Michigan. I've been coming here since they opened, and I hope an Izzy's cheesesteak with mushrooms and hot peppers is my last meal.

Izzys hoagie shop is great for the tastebuds, sandwiches are always super fresh. Desi has great customer service and has knowledge of the good stuff on the Menu, while having a awesome personality. Super happy with the adjustments to the Schedule adding a few hours to the days definitely makes the challenge of making it here on time less daunting. One of the best Hoagie and Sandwhich spots in Town.

Food:Izzy’s shines when it comes to their hoagies. The sandwiches are delicious – rich, a bit greasy, and packed with flavor, especially when topped with their pepper relish. This relish adds a little kick and beautifully complements the sandwich, making it a must-try.Service:Service, however, was where Izzy’s struggled during our visit. Our food took nearly 45 minutes to arrive, which was unexpected and inconvenient. Moreover, there was a mix-up with our order – the fries were forgotten. After being reassured that they were being prepared and would be served shortly, they unfortunately never arrived. After an hour, we finished our hoagies and left without a refund. It's important to note that they were very, very busy at the time, which I'm sure contributed to the service issues. Everyone was very friendly.Ambiance:The ambiance of Izzy’s could be a concern for some, particularly families. Laced with explicit lyrics, the loud music in the kitchen might not be everyone's cup of tea. While it didn't personally bother my wife and I, it’s something to keep in mind if you're considering visiting with younger children.

The food here is almost always great. The only issue I've ran into here was this last time we dined in.. Service was great, food was great, but the cooks mouth was just really foul. It was really bad. I consider myself pretty laid back but the things being said that day should've been said in a CLOSED kitchen at the very least. I realize it's A2 but if my 4 year old wasn't wearing his headphones, playing on his tablet, we might have had to complain. We'll still visit but it'll most likely be carryout from now on ?.

So enjoyed their grilled ham and cheese and chili oh the onion rings are great too. Enjoy ? we did.
