Contribuiți la feedbackTHE TURKISH GRILL is one of the top Turkish restaurants in North Goa, offering a variety of American and Indian dishes. I thoroughly enjoyed their authentic American and Italian cuisine during my visit.
We have visited Goa many times and always try to visit Presa di Goa, and the Turkish Grill. This year we called in January and were not disappointed. Owner/manager Edouard has maintained his standards and even managed to extend and improve the menu. We were served simple, well prepared food by attentive and friendly staff and thoroughly enjoyed it, and our day at the pool. Presa di Goa is a hidden jewel amongst the heat, the noise, the dust and the bustle in the Calangute/Arpora area and we look forward to visiting again.
"The Turkish Grill", located near Calangute, Goa / India, is a culinary garden restaurant in the "Presa di Goa" resort, recommended highly to gourmet travelers. For any Goa visitor looking to enjoy a delectable cuisine with a solid price-performance ratio during their trip to India, "The Turkish Grill" is the perfect choice for dining. The diverse culinary offerings of delicious dishes and desserts, paired with national and international fine wines, provide guests with unique culinary delights in a beautiful setting. This exquisite restaurant is situated in a beautifully landscaped exotic garden, where a rustic bar invites guests to enjoy exotic drinks, a refreshing swimming pool offers physical refreshment, and the option for a traditional Indian massage is available. Pure relaxation! The secret to the exceptional cuisine lies with the wonderful "Grandma" and her chefs, who have a wealth of expertise in preparing fantastic-tasting Indian-Goan and Turkish-Mediterranean dishes. Contrary to the norm where the kitchen is usually shrouded in mystery for guests, I had the privilege of not only peeking into the kitchen with the welcoming grandma and friendly chefs but also successfully completing a local cooking class during my 10-day stay there. I am still impressed by the resort's kitchen, where I got to learn how to prepare Indian masalas and curries, Turkish mezes, or perfectly grill fresh fish such as Red Snapper, Pomfret, or Kingfish on the charcoal grill in a relatively short time. As a hobby chef, I am particularly grateful to the resort management for igniting my passion for preparing exquisite dishes and expanding my repertoire. Unfortunately, fresh fish in such variety and freshness is hard to come by in Bavaria at home. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the dear grandma for her generosity, patience, and efforts in introducing me to Indian cuisine! With the absolute freshness and high quality of the culinary dishes, as well as the selection of exclusive wines and desserts, "The Turkish Grill" at the Boutique-Hotel "Presa di Goa" offers a cost-effective gourmet experience and is highly recommended to all Goa visitors. We express our sincere gratitude to the resort owner, Director Edouard Speck, and his resort family for the wonderful time we experienced at "Presa di Goa." After a few days of our stay, we quickly decided to plan a return visit to this charming gem, making our farewell a little easier in the end. Dr.Sch.B.&E. from Bavaria
Having stayed at the Boutique Hotel "Presa di Goa" for four days, which is located a bit away from Calangute, we dined every evening at the attached garden restaurant "The Turkish Grill." We did not regret this decision at all. In fact, we had the best food of our 14-day trip to India (Karnataka and Goa) there. The menu is wide-ranging, offering Indian/Goan dishes as well as Mediterranean/Turkish options. On Tuesdays and Fridays, they serve fresh fish, which we tried based on the recommendation of the head waiter. On the other days, they also offer fish from the freezer. On our first night, we enjoyed delicious Red Snapper grilled in a Turkish style, accompanied by potato gratin and vegetables (still crunchy), while on the following days we had Kingfish fillet, Goan fish curry (spicy but not too hot), and succulent Tiger prawns from the grill. Pomfret and lobster were also available upon request, but we only had four nights there. Another highlight was the abundant Turkish appetizer (Mezze) platter on our last night (including Hummus, Tabouleh, tomato salad, olive salad, wine-infused mushrooms, stuffed grape leaves, spinach yogurt). They also had grilled steaks, various salads, and typical Indian dishes, but being near the sea, we prefer seafood. Before each meal, we were served a delicious amuse-bouche. The dessert menu was also well-curated, with us mostly opting for fruit salad. Not to forget the drinks - we enjoyed Lime soda salted as usual during our travels to India. The beer at the Turkish Grill was always nicely chilled. The wine list, considering Indian standards, was quite extensive, featuring various Indian wines and some expensive foreign ones. However, when in the country, we prefer trying the local options. The prices at The Turkish Grill may be considered high by Indian standards, but in comparison to European prices, you get to indulge for a relatively small amount of money. Overall, it offers a very good value for money.
