The Crow's Nest - Anchorage

I understand that upscale restaurants often serve small portions at high prices, but I was still surprised by my experience. I ordered an appetizer, a crab bisque, for $12 and was shocked when the waiter brought out a large bowl that only contained a tiny piece of crab in the center, surrounded by thick broth. While the taste was decent, I was frustrated by the long wait time of over an hour for simple dishes like steak and vegetables in addition to the soup. I also had a cocktail—considering I haven’t had alcohol in a while, I expected to feel a buzz, but it was mostly juice. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance, but the dark hallways, while stylish, aren't the most welcoming. However, the lobby and shops are lovely, and the restaurant's location on the top floor offers a fantastic view.

The service at this restaurant is unparalleled. The sommelier is knowledgeable and can assist you in selecting the perfect wine pairings for your meal, as well as provide detailed explanations about the various options. Be sure not to miss the Alaskan King Crab—it's an absolute must-try while you're here, and you won't regret it. Every dish on the menu is of exceptional quality. You'll be treated to a refreshing amuse bouche, followed by a delightful chocolate treat to round off your meal. If you're in Anchorage, even just for a day, you simply have to experience the fine dining here.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary during our vacation in Alaska and were seated at a corner table that offered a stunning panoramic view of Anchorage and the surrounding area. Our server, Chelsea, along with her assistant Rafael, took great care of us. They promptly brought our cocktails, followed by oysters and lobster crudo, which were absolutely delicious. For our main courses, we enjoyed Alaskan Black cod and Halibut, both of which were incredibly tender and beautifully presented. It was a wonderful dinner overall.
